Vinho Verde Route
The Vinho Verde Region, which in 2008 celebrated the centenary of its demarcation, offers different routes that complement each other. The stunning beauty of the Minho region is the scenery for the Vinho Verde Route, which offers three routes. The first one invites you to visit the "Three Charming Cities": Guimarães, Braga and Amarante. The second one, "Do Cávado ao Lima," takes you to Barcelos, Viana do Castelo, Ponte da Lima, Ponte da Barca and Arcos de Valdevez, localized on the banks of the Lima river. "Da Costa à Serra" is the border route to Galiza, where the charms of Caminha are unveiled, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Valença and Monção, the capital of the so appreciated Alvarinho wine.

In "Baixa Corgo", Murça, Alijó, Sabrosa, São João da Pesqueira and Tabuaço are waiting to reveal the best they have to you. Finally, in "Douro Superior," visit Vila Flor, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Torre de Moncorvo, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Mêda and Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo.
The harvest is the most important and lively event in all of Douro Valley. The work is simultaneously a party for the people of the Douro. In the lagaradas, the concertina is played and singing takes place, setting the pace for the traditional crushing of the grapes by bare feet.

Cister Vineyards Route
If you enjoy fine wines, do not leave the north of Portugal without having tasted the DOC Távora-Varosa wine, made at the feet of the slopes of the Nave mountain, in a small area between Paiva and Távora rivers, located north of the Beiras and bordering the Douro.
This region where the cultivation of the vine goes back to the Roman occupation, even though it was mainly developed by the monks of Cister, is very relevant in the production of sparkling wines. In it, white varieties dominate: Malvasia Fina, Cerceal, Gouveio or Chardonnay. The most planted red varieties are Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Pinot Noir.
The Cister Vineyards Route runs and merges with the demarcated region of Távora-Varosa, in whose vineyards are born some of the best Portuguese sparkling, aromatic and fruity table wines, whether white or red. Save time, therefore, to also get to know the region at the table.
Here, there are two routes at your disposition. The first "The path of the monasteries," will take you through Lamego, Armamar, Cimbres. Ucanha. If you prefer, you still have the script "Between vineyards and chestnuts" where you can get to know Moimenta da Beira, Fonte Arcada, Tabuaço, Serra da Lapa, Sernancelhe and Lamego better.
